Scene of the Week: Brendan Reveals His Past To Mitzeee

Without a doubt, this scene has to go down as one of the most powerful in Hollyoaks history. So good in fact, you’d be forgiven in forgetting you were watching our favourite soap at all, this was something so effective, it was like a scene straight out of a primetime drama. We adore Britzeee - the friendship of two incredible characters works beautifully - so to see them in scenes as raw and as moving as this, was a treat. We were choked up and sickened in equal parts as Brendan talked about the sexual abuse he suffered. We’ll never forget the chilling lines about the eight times table, it made our stomachs churn. A dark and supremely powerful moment with awesome performances and writing which implied so much, leaving our minds to fill in the gaps and making it all the more gut-wrenching.
